Welcome to Scottish Borders

Festival of Walking

Kelso was very proud to host the thirteenth Scottish Borders Festival of Walking.

Everyone has rated the festival very highly and walkers were delighted by the entertainment on offer in the evenings as well as the varied programme of walks.

Walkers commented that they were made to feel really welcome in the town, where many shops displayed information and maps and local businesses helped sponsored the event.

Walk Leaders and Backmarkers were much praised and deservedly so. The weather was warm and sunny and that made for a fantastic 8 days of walking.

Since it was first held in West Linton in 1995, the Festival has travelled the length and breadth of the Scottish Borders with great success, visiting every part of this beautiful area with many enthusiasts returning each year and meeting up with friends from previous events.

The 14th Festival of Walking will be hosted by the town of Galashiels who will bring their own style and ideas to this event.

The Kelso team wish them every success with this marvellous event.
