Peebles Civic Society

THE 2009 COMPETITION

There were more than 60 entries this year, including so many fine photographs that the judges suggested to the Society that there should be four equal winners.  These are Elizabeth Clyde, Jeff Douce, Alan Lumsden and Kathy Troup. The four pictures have been combined to produce a four image card which is reproduced below. Congratulations to the winners and thanks to everyone who took part in the competition. The card is now on sale in several town centre retailers.

The competition is held every year and a copy of the judging criteria appears below:-

  The judges criteria are :-

1. The picture is likely to appeal to visitors and Peebleans who are looking for a quality card that is readily recognised as a Peebles scene.

2. The picture is well designed in respect of composition, balance and light.

3. The picture is distinctive and striking in colour.

4. The picture is of outstanding clarity so that it will print successfully as a post card.

5. The picture will add to the range of winners from previous years by being uniquely interesting

All the entries will be exhibited during the Peebles Arts Festival, and may be in normal print or digital format.

All entries will become the property of the Peebles Civic Society and will be sold to local outlets.

The winner will receive 50 free copies of the card. Entries should be submitted to:-
